TRUSTEE ELECTION FILING NOTICE:

The Consolidated Election will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. The Sandwich Fire Protection District will have one (1) Trustee position open; for a six (6) year term.

Necessary paperwork may be picked up at the Fire District Headquarter Offices located at 310 E. Railroad Street between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Paperwork can also be obtained from the State Board of Elections website at www.elections.state.il.us or from our website through the attachment below. No petitions may be circulated prior to Tuesday, September 18, 2018.

The first day to file petitions at the Fire District Headquarters will be Monday, December 10, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The last day to file is Monday, December 17, 2018 by 5:00 p.m. No application can be filed before this time.

Candidates must obtain no less than 25 signatures from registered voters or 5% of the registered voters residing within the Sandwich Fire Protection District, whichever is less.

Your Statement of Economic Interest must be filed with the Dekalb County Clerk’s Office stating you are a Candidate for a Trustee position with the Sandwich Fire Protection District and dated for this election. This is the only document that may be filed separately, but must be filed no later than Monday, December 17, 2018 by 5:00 p.m.

Last day to file objections with the local election official is no later than five business days from the last day to file petitions, which would be Friday, December 21, 2018.

The last day to file a Declaration of Intent to become a write-in candidate with the Dekalb County Clerk’s office will be January 31, 2019. These forms are available from the Dekalb County Clerk’s website at http://dekalb.il.clerkserve.com/ or by calling their offices at 815-895-7149.
